Kesar Malai Peda

Kesar Malai Peda - Shreela Sasidharan


Ingredients

(Instant Microwave Method.....3mins)

Measuring cup used ( 1cup = 250ml )
  • 200 gm sweetened condensed milk
  • ( 1/2 a can of condensed milk )
  • 1/2 tbsp ghee 
  • 3/4 cup milk powder 
  • Saffron. ..A pinch
  • Elaichi powder.
  • Pistachios for garnish
Method
  • Mix the condensed milk, milk powder & ghee in a microwave safe bowl.
  • Make sure there are no lumps.
  • Add elaichi n saffron ..
  • ( I soaked few saffron strands in abt 1 tbsp warm milk n added this mixture into the bowl )
  • Stir n microwave on HIGH for 1 min
  • Remove & stir again
  • Microwave again for 
  • 30 secs on HIGH & check.
  • If the mixture looks a bit liquid microwave again for 30 secs on HIGH power...the mixture will thicken.
  • It took exactly 3 mins to get the right consistency 
  • If the mixture still has moisture & is liquid consistency still, then microwave again on HIGH for 15 to 30 seconds more.
  • When mixture is still warm ..shape into balls.
  • ( I removed the mixture while warm n kneaded the mixture well into a ball ...divided into portions.)
  • Shape as desired
  • Garnish with pistachio slivers.
