Vodi Ambat - Pooja Shenoy

Here is the recipe in kannada from Jaya V Shenoys, 'OoTa Upahara'. for those who cannot read kannada, below is a translation
SanDige Ambat
6 Ashgourd oDii ( Kunvale oDii)
¼ Coconut (grated)
2 Red chillies (roasted)
Tamarind ( size of a tamarind seed)
Small piece turmeric
½ tsp Methi seeds
½ spoon mustard
Curry leaves few
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
Fry the oDii in oil and keep aside.
Grind coconut+red chillies+tamarind+ turmeric. Fry methi seeds in a little oil and add to the masala and grind (just 1 - 2 turns). Add water to get the desired consistency and salt to taste. Boil the mixture. Prepare a tadka with mustard and curry leaves and add it to the gravy and then add the fried oDii
