Bhapa Chocolate Sandesh - Namitha Tickare
Ingredients...
1.5 Litres Full cream Milk1 Lemon juice/ 1 tbsp of Vinegar
150 gms Powdered Sugar
30 gms Drinking chocolate
Ghee(clarified butter) for greasing
Dark chocolate slivers for garnishing
Pistachios for garnishing
Procedure...
1 Heat the 1.5 litre milk in a big vessel. When it is hot enough and about to rise add the lemon juice or vinegar and stir it till the milk curdles.2 When the whey separates strain the paneer (cottage cheese) and wash it thoroughly in running water for the aroma of lemon/ vinegar go.
3 Tie the cottage cheese in a muslin cloth and hang it for 30 minutes or till all the water is drained off.
4 Remove the paneer in a mixing bowl, add the drinking chocolate and the sugar and knead it for 10-15 minutes or till it becomes one and you cannot see separate grains of paneer.
5 Grease a dish which you want to steam in with ghee. Here I have used the regular cooker vessel.
6 But the mixture nicely covering the sides.
7 Place the vessel in a pressure cooker/ idli steamer, pour water till half the level of the vessel.
8 If you keep it in a pressure cooker cover the lid without the whistle and leave the cooker at mid flame for 20 minutes.
9Take the vessel out and turn it over on a plate. Leave it to cool at room temperature and then refrigerate it for an hour.
