Dates Halwa - Rekha Vishwanath Nayak
INGREDIENTS:-dates - 1 cup
badam - 10 + few more for garnishing
sugar - 3/4 cup
ghee - 3/4 cup
cashew nuts - 1/4 cup + few more for garnishing
milk - 1/2 cup
METHOD;-
1. Deseed & chop dates & soak them in milk for about 1/2 an hour & grind them.
2. Soak badams in hot water & peel them & chop them finely.
3. Add sugar to the dates ground . Let this go on fire. Once the sugar melts add little less than 3/4th cup of ghee+ finely chopped cashew nuts+chopped badam.
4. Keep stirring on small flame, keep stirring until the ghee leaves the sides of the halwa.
5. Grease a plate. Spread this halwa & garnish with badam n cashew nut pieces.
