Sardine Curry

Sardine Curry - Priya r shenoy
Grind 1 cup coconut + kasmiri red chilli powder ( 4 teasp) + red chilli powder ( 2 teasp) + lil haldi + corriander powder(1 teasp) together to a not so smooth paste (shud not be coarse also) adding very little water
Heat coconut oil
temper with mustard methi seeds and curry leaves
saute ginger ( 1' piece) + garlic ( 6 to 8 pods) and 4 green chiliies
next add sliced shallots(10 to 12) ...
now add the ground thick coconut paste to it...saute till its raw smell disappears
now add sufficient water to adjust the consistency of the gravy
add 2 tomatoes chopped and around 1/4 cup of thick tamarind pulp ..( adjust accordingly)
now when the gravy boils add the baby sardines to it..boil for 5 more minutes n turn off...
add fresh curry leaves on top
its ready......
