Peas Kachori

Peas Kachori - Vidya Nayak Shenoy


Recipe
For the outer dough:


Take 2 cups of maida and 2 table spoons of cornflour, 1 tblsp of oil and salt in a bowl.
Make a stiff dough and cover it with a moist cloth and keep it aside. Adding cornflour gives it the desired texture. This was my very own idea which was a super hit today.
For the filling:

Chop onions finely. Take oil in a kadai and add jeera.When they splutter add haldi, mirchi, dhania and garam masala powders. Then add cooked peas and tomatoes and add salt and coriander leaves.

Divide the dough into balls and roll them into a puri and keep 1 tsp of the filling in the centre and fold them sealing the sides. Flatten a little and then deep fry them till they are light yellow in colour. Serve with dates and tamarind chutney.
