Moong Dal Halwa - Sheela Bhandarkar

Ingredients:
1 Cup Moong Dal/Skinned split green gram
1/2 Cup Jaggery
1 Tbsp Ghee {Optional!}
A Pinch of Cardamom Powder
Chopped dry fruits such as cashews and raisins as Garnish
Recipe:
1. Soak moong dal for around 3-4 hours.. Discard water and pressure cook till soft but not mashed completely..
Note: While adding water in the pressure cooker, take care that the water should be of the same level as dal and not more than that..
2. Melt jaggery in a pot using little water..2. Melt jaggery in a pot using little water..
3. Sieve the jaggery water and add to the moong dal..
4. Cook the mixture stirring occasionally till water evaporates completely.. Add ghee..
5. Fry till ghee leaves sides of the pan..
6. Add raisins and mix well..
8. Remove from flame and garnish with cashews...
Serve warm!
