Varlele Salad Bhakri

Varlele Salad Bhakri - Anuradha Mudalagiri Kamat

Recipe:
(Bread made using up left over salad)


Salad: Pomegranate, capsicum, onion, cucumber, tomato, rock salt (kala namak) and coriander leaves.


To the above left over salad added the following: A little curds, lightly roasted and cooled semolina and salt to taste. Mix together to form a dense mixture. Heat a tava or non stick girdle, reduce heat, Take a portion of the prepared mixture and place it on the gridle and immediately flatten it into a thickish disc. Add a few droplets of oil or ghee along the side of the flat bread cover and cook till the under side is cooked, add a few more droplets of oil or ghee over the flat bread and turn it over and cook till brown spots appear. Remove and serve warm. Use up the rest of the mixture (dough) similarly.
