Surran Thambude - Roopa Bhandary
Recipe:
Small picce suran, 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp methi seeds, 2 tsp coriander seeds, 1 small piece hing, Tamarind - marble size, 1/4 tsp turmeric pdr, 15 red chillies ( long) , 4 tsp oil, 1 lemon size jaggery, 1 spring curry leaves, salt to taste.....Cut suran into small cubes, wash & boil in water till soft,.... add salt &jaggery to it & keep aside....roast coriander, methi, mustard, turmeric, chillies in 2 tsp oil & grind with tamarind to a fine paste....Then add this masala to cooked suran & add enough water ...Bring to a boil...Season with mustard & curry leaves...( Jaya v shenoy's cookbook)
