Mixed Dry Fruit Chikki

Mixed Dry Fruit Chikki - Madhukantha Kamath
Recipe:

Toast 1/2 cup almonds+ 1/2 cup unsalted pista +1/2 cup halved split cashew nuts n chop them . Melt n caramelise 1and a half cups of sugar (taking care not to burn it )in a thick kadai n add a tsp of ghee ,a pinch of saffron strands and green cardamom powder while stirring continuously all the time .Mix the chopped nuts well into this sugar syrup and flatten the mix by pressing with a spatula /ladle or flatten into desired thickness /thinness using a rolling pin onto a pre greased plate. or counter top . Cut while its warm into shapes by crisscrossing with a knife. After it has cooled u can break it into convenient sized chiKki pieces n store in a dry box
