Magge Pulikoddel

Magge Pulikoddel - Suman Bhat

2 CUPS ASH GOURD(kuvale)/Magge ( Madras Cucumber) (steamed or boiled till soft )
¼ COCONUT GRATED
1 TSP CORIANDER SEEDS
10 PEPPER CORNS
1 TSP RICE
2 RED CHILLES
1 HEAPED TSP HUSKED BENGAL GRAM DAL
1 TSP TIL
8 SEEDS METHIS
1 PINCH TURMERIC
1PINCH HING
Fry all above separately with lil oil till light brown and keep aside to cool
Add 1 marble sized tamarind 
Grind into smooth paste with just lil water
Add into the masala, 2 tbsp gur( jaggery) / sugar and add all this into cooked ash gourd/ magge pieces and reqd salt to taste and bring to boil and keep on sim till gravy thickens last add seasoning .
Season with mustard and curry leaves.
