Lady fish curry (Nogli ambat)


Lady fish curry (Nogli ambat) - Nisha Baliga Shenoy 

Ingredients:

1 kg Lady fish cleand and cut into desired pieces.
2 cups grated coconut
About 13 to 14 Roasted red dry chillies ( half Selam half Byadagi )
Cherry size Tamarind
2 medium sized onions finely chopped.
coconut oil
salt to taste.
pinch haldi pd

METHOD

Wash and clean the fish. Cut into desire size pieces. keep aside.
Grind together coconut, chillies, tamarind, and haldi pd to a fine paste with adding water as required.
Transfer this to a thick bottom vessel.
Divide the chopped onions into two portions.
Add one portion to the masala along with the salt and bring it to a boil.
Add fish and Sim the flame and let it boil for five minutes.
Turn off the gas.
In a small pan, add coconut oil, heat it and add the onions, fry well till u get a nice aroma.
Temper this to the curry.
Nogli Ambat is ready.
Serve hot with Boiled rice. !
