Basa fish fillet & bell pepper in black bean sauce served with capscicum fried rice - Anuradha Prabhu

Recipe for fish gravy.
Ive used 2 medium sized basa fillet(frozen). Thaw the fish, wash, cut into cubes & marinate with a tsp of dark soya sauce. Heat 5-6 tbsp of refined oil in a non stick pan till it smokes, add the cubes of fish & fry for a min. Remove & keep aside. In the same oil( add more oil if reqd) stir fry 2 tbsp of finely chopped garlic till light brown, add 1 finely sliced onion. Fry for a min, add 2 tbsp of black bean paste( available in supermarkets). Fry the paste for2-3 mins, add a cup of water, mix. When it boils add 1/4 cup of cornflour paste( 1tbsp cornflour mixed with 1/4 cup of water). Keep on stirring till it thickens slightly. Add the fish pieces along with 1 capscicum cut in cubes & 2 slit green chillies. Cook for 4-5 mins, add a dash of chilli oil & serve. No need to add salt as the paste contains enough salt. More chillies can be added if u want the dish spicy.
