Usal Paav

Usal Paav - Nisha Baliga Shenoy
1/2 kg White peas dried
2 pods garlic
1/2 haldi
2 tbsp Dhania pd
2 tsp chilli pd
2 tsp Malvani masala or Goda masala ( optional )
To garnish > coriander leaves , chopped onions and farsan.

METHOD

Soak the dried peas in water over nite.
Next day boil it with plenty of water till done
Take a thick bottom vessel. Transfer the boiled peas in it. add water and dilute it.
Add haldi pd dhania pd , chilli pd and if u have malavani masala add these and bring it to a boil.
heat oil in small pan , just crush the garlic pods and fry well and add this.
How to serve.
Garnish the curry with chopped onions coriander leaves n Farsan.
Serve with Paav .

How to make Malvani masala

TO MAKE MALVANI MASALA

2tsp coriander seeds

1 tsp cumin seeds

5 red chillies

1/2 tspp pepper

4 cloves

1 black cardamom

1 star anise

1 mace

1 piece dagad phool( stone flower )

1. Heat oil in a pan and fry all the above items one by one .

2. when cool pd it along with 1/4 tsp haldi pd, 1/2 tsp nutmeg pd and 1/2 tsp paprika pd. Mix well and Malvani masala is ready .
