Sweet Puttu - Manjula Govardhan
Recipe:
Take 2cups of mumbai rava n fry in a kaili till it smells. Add cardamon pdr n let it cool. Grate coconut n add 1 handfull gratings n little table salt to the rava. Add water little by little while mixing all the ingredients. The mixture should be lumpless n 'sudsudu'. Now take the puttu tube with its jalli at the bottom n put around 1tspoon of gratings by spreading with ur fingers. Then put 1 tablspoon mixture by spreading with ur fingers. Again add 1 tablspoon mixture in the same way( that is 2 tablespoons). Then add 1tspoon gratings n then 1tspoon sugar. Now again put 2 tabl spoons mixture and gratings, sugar layers. Fill the tube in the same way n fit it on steam either on cooker steam or boiling water pot that comes along with the tube. Close the lid on top of the tube. Tie a wet cloth around the bottom of the tube so as to prevent steam from escaping. When the steam comes out of the holes of the lid ur puttu is ready. Remove the tube n lay the puttu on a plate by pushing from the jalli side by inserting a 'lattoni'. You can prepare sweetless puttu without sugar n elaichi pdr n serve with channa randhai.
