1 Karela...Discard core seed portion and Chop Finely and apply salt.
Roast the karela pieces in very little oil...using a non-stick pan. till crisp.
For the gravy: 1 cup coconut grated.
2 green chillies
1/2 teaspoon Methi seeds
Tamarind and salt to taste.
2 teaspoons raw rice,washed and soaked in little water.
Roast the green chilly pieces and methi seeds in a little oil and grind with coconut and tamarind to a smooth paste Last add the soaked rice grains and grind further. Add enough water to make a Ghashi consistency gravy. Boil it. When it just boils, lower the flame and add the fried karela pieces and put off flame. Do not stir. Cover and keep for a while. Check salt and serve with rice...or as a side dish for rotis......Enjoy!!!
