Pulikoddel


Pulikoddel - Anitha Shenoy

Ingredients:

Pumpkin-1/4 portion(around 8-10 big pieces)
Red chillies-8
Coriander seeds-3 spoons
Raw rice-1 spoon
Urud dal-2 tspoons
Chana dal-2 tsp
Mustard seeds-1tsp
Sesame seeds-3tsp
Curry leaves-1 sprig
Coconut-3tsp
Jaggery-lemon size
Turmeric stick-1 small or powder-1tsp
Tamarind-lemon size
Salt to taste 
Oil-2tbsp

Method:

Cut the pumpkin into big cubes and cook it with salt and jaggery for 10-15mns. 
Fry rest of the above ingredients including little curry leaves in little oil and grind to a fine paste. 
Add the ground paste to the cooked pumpkin pieces. Adjust salt. 
Do the seasoning with little mustard seeds and curry leaves. Serve with hot steaming rice.
