Guntur Chicken Curry

Guntur Chicken Curry - Anuradha Prabhu



Recipe is as follow:-

Clean & cut 1kg chicken into medium pieces. Heat 3tbsp oil
in a karahi, add a paste made from 3 medium onions, sauté
till the water disappears. Add 3 tbsp of ginger garlic paste, 2
tbsp of red chilli paste( 15-20 dry red chillies soaked in water
& ground to a fine paste), fry till the oil leaves the side. Add 1
tsp of turmeric pd, 2 tbsp of dry coriander powder, sauté for
few mins. Add the chicken pieces, salt & fry till the masala
coats the chicken well. Add 1/2 cup of water & cook for 10 mins.
Add a paste made from grinding 1/2 cup grated coconut, 8-10 cashewnuts & 1tsp of khuskhus(poppy seeds) to the chicken.
Also add a cup of water & cook till the chicken is tender. Squeeze 1/4 cup of lime juice.
Garnish with fried curry leaves & fried red chillies.
PS- this is a spicy dish hence chillies can be added according to ones taste.
