Thingalavare Phanna Upkari

Thingalavare Phanna Upkari - Laxmi Bhandary


Ingredients: 

1 cup thingalavare (navy beans), 2 potatoes (chopped), 3 tomatoes (finely chopped), 2 tbsps kashmiri red chilli powder, 1 tsp tamarind pulp, 3 onions (finely chopped), coriander leaves for garnishing and salt to taste.

Method: 
Pressure cook thingalavare and potatoes and keep aside. In a pan put 3 tbsps of oil, add onion and fry for 5 minus and fry till golden brown. Add chilli powder and fry for a while. Then add tomatoes and tamarind pulp and fry for 5 minutes. Add 1 cup of water and salt. Let it boil. Then add boiled thingalavare and potatoes. Cook for 2 minutes. Remove from flame. Garnish with coriander leaves.
