INGREDIENTS

Gram flour (Besan) – 1 cup
Onion – 1 medium
Fresh coriander – a small bunch
Red chilly powder – ½ tsp
Green chilly – 1 (Optional)
Ginger-garlic paste – 2 tsp
Sugar – 1 tsp
Salt – 1 ½ tsp or to taste
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Water – as required
Oil – 4 tsp

Method –

1. Chop onion , coriander, green chillies into fine pieces . Keep aside .

2. In a bowl take gramflour and add about ½ -3/4 of water . Stir properly to make a smooth batter . Remember that its consistency should be little runny than a cake-like batter . You can add more water if required .

3. Once the batter is ready add chopped onions , coriander , green chillies , red chilly pd. , turmeric pd. , ginger-garlic paste , sugar , salt and mix properly .

4. Heat a non-stick pan and drizzle few drops of oil . Pour over a ladle full of batter and spread evenly .

5. When it gets a nice golden color at the bottom …..then , drizzle some oil on the upper portion and turn it . Cook on this side as well till golden .

Onion pancakes are ready . Serve it with sauce/chutney of your choice .

Sunayana’s Tips –

1. While making a batter ….never add all the water at once. This will make lumps and since , you have no idea about the consistency of batter….there is a big chance that you can add more water than required .So always start with a little amount of water and gradually increase as per your need .

2. If you calorie consious then use a good quality non-stick pan to make this pancake . You won't require even a single drizzle of oil .
