Narali Bhaat

Narali Bhaat - Rajashree Acharya Kamat

Recipe:

Wash 2 cups rice, remove the water & spread it on a plate to dry.After an hour, heat 2 tsp ghee in a vessel & add 4-5 cloves. When they get puffed, add the washed rice& fry it in the ghee. Add 2-3 cups hot over the rice& a pinch of salt.Let it cook. After it has boiled for say 2 min., reduce the flame to sim & let it get cooked till done. Remove from the flame & cover the vessel with a plate for 10 min. Later, remove the cooked rice in a plate & let it cool.Meanwhile, in a kadhai, take 2 cups jaggery & add li'l water to it. Heat the kadhai & let the jaggery dissolve.Reduce the flame to sim & add 1 cup grated coconut to it & mix properly.Then add the cooked rice,dry fruits of your choice & cardamom powder & mix everything properly.Let the rice get properly mixed in & avoid lumps.Add 2 tblsp melted ghee on top. Serve hot.
