Dal Phodi

Dal Phodi - Rajashree Acharya Kamat
Recipe:

Soak about 1 cup toor dal for about 4hrs. Then grind it into a smooth paste. Take a fistful of grated coconut,2-3 roasted bedgi chillies, 2-3 tsp. roasted coriander, li'l jaggery,li'l tamarind & turmeric. Grind this into a coarse batter.Mix this with the dal paste. Add salt & mix properly. Add finely chopped onion & chopped cabbage to this mixture & mix properly. Heat a pan. Take a small ball from this mixture, flatten it, apply rava on both sides & shallow fry using oil. Do this on a low flame as they get burnt easily & remain kaccha inside.
