Simple Moong Dal And Cabbage Dish - Asha Pai
Recipe:
Wash & soak 1/2 cup moong dal. chop a medium sized cabbage. start with a tempering of mustard, urad dal, methi sedds, curry leaves and turmeric powder. immediately add the dal and pour just enough water to cover the dal. cover and cook till the dal is half done and water is almost absorbed. now add cabbage, red chilly powder and salt, give it a good stir and cover and cook on simmer till done. idea is not to let the dal go mushy, so take care of the quantity of water added to the dal. add lots of grated coconut towards the end and stir well, garnish again with coconut gratings.
