Beetroot Cutlets

Beetroot Cutlets - Laxmi Bhandary

Ingredients: 2-3 t sp oil, 1tsp mustard, 2 tsp urad dal, 2 onions - chopped finely, 3 tbsp garam masala powder, 1 tbsp chilly powder, 8-10 garlic cloves - chopped, 1 medium size beetroot - peeled & grated, 3 - 4 boiled potatoes - mashed , 1/2 cup grreen peas - boiled, 3 tb sp corn flour, Salt to taste, Bread crumbs, oil for frying


Method: Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds & urad dal. fry till mustard seeds splutter & Urad dal becomes red, then add garlic & onions & fry till golden, add chilly & garam masala powder & fry for 2 minute. Then add beetroot gratings & cook till done on low flame. Keep it aside to cool down. Then add mashed potatoes, green peas , corn flour & salt to make a dough. then make cutlets of any shape, Dip in bread crumbs & deep fry in hot oil. or shallow fry using little oil on a tawa
