Watermelon Rind Surnali - Sabitha Shenoy
Method:
Blend or grated --- 2 cups of wmelonnrind .Soak in this pulp 2 cups of Dosa rice ( after washing it.Add a tsp of methi with the rice. Soak this for 4 hours. Wash 1 cup of beaten rice/poha and add 1 cup curd or thick buttermilk. 3 tablsps grated coconut.Grind portions of rice,poha and coconut to a smooth paste.Add jaggery & salt to the batter...do not mix.Allow to ferment...pour the fermented batter on the hot non stick Tava. Do not spread, cover and cook only on one side.
For the colour, I have added a pinch of turmeric powder.original recipe from Asha satish pilar.
