Mackerel Masala In Plantain Leaves

Mackerel Masala In Plantain Leaves - Nisha Baliga Shenoy
Mackeral 12 nos
Red chillies 25 to 30 nos ( u can mix half long n short ones )
2 tbsp coriander seeds
1 tsp methi seeds
1 pinch carom seeds
2 tsp pepper corns
2 tsp haldi pd
6 tp 8 flakes Garlic
3 lemon size tamarind
salt to taste
10 to 12 green chillies chopped
2 pieces ginger chopped
1 full pod garlic chopped
1 onion chopped
4 tsp coconut oil.
2 Plantain leaves.

HOW TO PROCEED.
Fry from 2 to 7.
Grind from 2 to 10 to a fine paste with adding just enuf water .
Now take the chopped chilles, garlic and onions. Mix it with coconut oil and add it to the masala.
Clean the Mackeral and make 2- 3 horizontal slits .
Coat the mackerals with this masala and keep aside for half an hour .
Take the banana leaf. remove the stem. warm it on the gas stove so that it will be easy to fold.
Smear the leaf with Coconut oil.
Place the Fish on the leaf , Heat a broad bottom pan , add some oil and place this leaf in it .
Fold the leaf and close the pan.
Cook on sim flame for half an hour.
This can also be baked in oven .
