Saat


Saat - Laxmi Bhandary

Ingredients: 


3 pav maida, 2 & 1/2 pav sugar, 10 pods cardamom, 1 & 1/2 cup ghee (for kneading), 1 & 1/2 ghee or dalda for frying
 


Method: 

Skin cardamom pods. No need to powder them. Heat the ghee required for kneading. Mix cardamom and warm ghee with maida and prepare dough as for puri, adding a little water. Roll portions of the dough in to round balls of lime size, flatten them a bit and fry in ghee or dalda, in frying pan, on low flame. Add a little water to sugar and heat till syrup is formed, that can be drawn in to strings. Stir till the syrup thickens. Dip the fried saats in it one by one. Take out and place on a thali greased with ghee. Allow it to cool and the syrup to set
