Idlis With Red Amarnath Leaves(Taambdi Bhaaji) - Rajashree Acharya Kamath

Recipe: 

Soak 1 cup urad dal & 1/2 cup rice seperately for 7-8 hrs. Grind them along with 1/2 cup grated coconut, 7-8 roasted red chillies,pinch of turmeric & li'l tamarind to a fine batter. Keep the batter covered overnight. Next morn., add salt & finely chopped amaranth leaves to it. Apply oil to the idli moulds, transfer the batter into them & steam for 15-20 min. Upon cooling,remove the idlis, which can be served with chutney of ur choice.
