Capsicum Nonche

Capsicum Nonche - Rajashree Acharya Kamat


Recipe:

Soak a few groundnuts in water for 15-20 min.Fry 1tsp chana dal,1/2 tsp methi, 4-5 tsp til, 1/2 tsp hing & approx. 1/2 cup grated coconut in a li'l oil seperately.Upon cooling, add tamarind, turmeric, fried red chilles & fried coriander seeds to this & grind it into a fine paste. Heat a pan, add 3-4 tsp oil & make a tempering of mustard seeds & hing. Add the chopped capsicum to it & a li'l water. Also add the soaked groundnuts. Cover the pan & let the veg. get cooked on med. flame. Once done, add salt, ground mixture, 1/2 tsp. garam masala & some jaggery into it. Mix properly & cook for 5 min. Keep an eye on it as the mixture thickens very fast & addition of water may be reqd. Ur delicious dish is ready to be served. Have it with chapatis or even as a side dish.
