Vada curry

Vada curry - Sobha P Shenoi
Vada cury recipe..
Channa dal-1 cup(soaked)
Red chilly-2
Fennel seeds-1\2 ts
Oil-2 tbsp
Cinnamon-small piece
Cloves,cardamon,bay leaf-2,each
Onion-1 big,chopped
Tomato-1
Ginger garlic paste-1 tsp
Red chilly powder-1 tsp
coriander powder- 1n 1\2 tsp
Turmeric powder-1\2 tsp
Salt to taste
Mint and coriander leaf
vada curry:
1.Soak dal in water for 2 hrs.Then drain and grind to a coarse paste with all other items in " to grind".Make small balls of it and steam them in the idli cooker/steamer
2.Heat oil in a pan add in all whole pieces ,then add chopped onion and fry till it becomes translucent then add ginger garlic paste cook till raw smell goes.
3.Add in chopped tomato cook till mushy followed by all dry powder mix well.Add a cup of water and wait to boil.Meantime break the steamed vada in to small pieces.check for salt
4.When it starts to boil add the vada pieces and wait to blends well.add in mint/coriander leaves.'Serve for chapathi, idli or dosa.
