Popped Rice Ladoo(Laaye Pitta Ladoo)

Popped Rice Ladoo(Laaye Pitta Ladoo) - Nisha Baliga Shenoy



This laddo is prepared from Layyi I mean Popped rice Rice. The powder of which is called pitto.So the name Laayi Pitta Undoo. A special kind of jaggery is used to prepare this. This jaggery is vey sticky in nature,and is know as Anta goda.

Ingredients


1 kg Anta Goda ( u will find this is any mlore store stores.)
1/4 kg popped rice pd ( this can be also found in mlore stores.
Roasted n peeled Groundnuts
2 tsps cardamom pd
unsalted karo ( thick shev)
ghee as per requirements
cashewnuts as requirement.
seasame seeds ( til )
Keep all these things Handy . Popped rice must be cleaned.


How to proceed !
Now in a thick bottom kadai , add the jaggery pieces and some 1/2 cup water. let it melt.
when it melts and start to boil, turn the gas to sim, and let the jaggery boil completely.
To check the consistency, take a drop of melted jaggery and drop it a boel of cold water.
The drop must form a soft ball.
turn of the gas and remov from gas and keep it down.
Now one by one add the peanuts, kao, cashews, cardamom pd, ghee and mixx well.
Then add the laayyi pitto as much as required in the jaggery. give a good mix.
This must form a lump. keep a side to cool .
Apply ghee to ur palms and make laddos.
Remember the mixture will harden as it cools
