Menthya Hitkidu Avarekalu Bhath

Menthya Hitkidu Avarekalu Bhath - Nisha Baliga Shenoy

Recipe:
500 gms Rice
500 gms Avarekalu Double deskined
2 big tomotes
1 bunch Methi leaves
1/2 big coconut's milk
2 Big onions
2 tbsp Ginger Garlic paste
1 tbsp Chilly paste
1 small bunch coriander leaves chopped
2 piece cinnamon
6 cloves
5 cardamom
small piece Javitri
2 to 3 Marat moggo
some bay leaves
1/2 tsp haldi pd
1 tsp coriander pd
1 tsp chilli pd
salt to taste
oil
water

For Rice
Wash and soak Rice in water for 20 minutes .
Drain it in Colander.

METHOD

Heat oil in a Cooker , add the chopped onions, then the ginger garlic paste and fry well.
Add the chilli paste. Add the whole Garam masala, when light brown, add the chopped methi leaves. saute for some time.
Add the double deskinned Avarekalu.
Fry till raw smell disappears.
Then add haldi pd, coriander pd and chilli pd and the tomatoes. Fry well.
Now measure the coconut milk . Make it into 1:2 proportion.
Add the coconot milk to fried tomatoes , salt to taste, corainder leaves.
Now add the Soaked and drained Rice and pressure for one whistle and sim for just 2 mintues. turn off the gas.
Menthya Avare kalu Bhath is ready! Relish hot with Raitha !!
